Remove Door Handle on Car Tutorial
You might be wondering why you would want to remove a door handle from your car. It does look nice, but what are the advantages of removing it?
Step 1: Open New File in Photoshop
In Photoshop, open a new file by clicking the ‘File’ menu and selecting ‘New.’ A new dialog box will appear. In the ‘Name’ field, enter a name for your file. You can also specify the width and height of your image in the ‘Width’ and ‘Height’ fields. Choose the resolution you want in the ‘Resolution’ field. The higher the resolution, the better quality your image will be. Finally, click ‘OK’ to create your new file.
Step 2: Create a new layer
In order to remove the door handle, you will need to create a new layer in your image editing software. This can be done by selecting the ‘Layer’ menu at the top of the screen and choosing ‘New Layer’ from the drop-down options. Once you have created a new layer, you will need to select it in the ‘Layers’ panel on the right side of the screen.
Step 3: Make a selection of the door handle
Assuming the door handle you are trying to remove is a doorknob, begin by unscrewing the knob from the door. To do this, locate the small screw(s) on the underside of the knob. Use a screwdriver to remove these screws, and then pull the knob away from the door. If the knob is stuck, insert a flathead screwdriver or butter knife between the gap in the door and knob and twist until the knob pops loose.
If you are removing a lever-style handle, begin by removing any screws that are holding it in place (usually found at the base of the handle). Once all screws have been removed, gently pull on the handle until it comes loose from the door.
Step 4: Delete the background layer by using the Eraser tool
Assuming you have already completed steps 1-3, begin step four by selecting the ‘Eraser’ tool from the left-hand side menu. With the ‘Eraser’ tool selected, click and drag across the background layer to delete it. The ‘Eraser’ tool will automatically create a new layer as you delete the background layer. Once you have deleted the entire background layer, you can then proceed to step five.
Step 5: Merge the selection into a single layer
1. In the Layers panel, select the top layer of the two layers you want to merge.
2. Press and hold the Alt (Windows) or Option (Mac OS) key, and click the Merge Down command on the Layers panel menu.
Step 6: Save the file as .png and export
Once you have your door handle removed, it’s time to save your file as a .png. This will allow you to export it and use it in other projects.
To save your file as a .png, go to File > Save As. In the drop-down menu, select .png. You may want to name your file something specific so you can easily find it later. Now that your file is saved as a .png, you can export it by going to File > Export. In the drop-down menu, select .png. You’ll be asked where you want to export your file. Choose a location that is easy for you to find and click Export.
